Plaquenil, (hydroxychlorquine) is routinely prescribed for Lupus. The people I know taking Plaquenil did catch Covid but they had only minor symptoms.

I know a couple of people who have such issues, take plaquenil for them, and not only never got the Wuhanic Plague they also very rarely get any other type of respiratory infection.

I have rheumatoid arthritis. Currently just taking 800 mg ibuprofen at bedtime to keep it in check. Hydroxychloroquine is another commonly prescribed drug for RA. The ibuprofen is hardly doing the job anymore. My joints feel bruised and burn from head to toe. I have to avoid the immune system suppressors because of a latent case of Valley Fever in my lungs. My luck, I would find relief with hydroxychloroquine just in time to pick a fight with China and have the supply disappear.

Early in the pandemic, Dr. Oz talked about researching longtime hydroxchloraquine - taking people with lupus. He talked about it quite often, but somehow was not able to (did not want to?) find enough information about these patients to do a study. That was very disappointing.
