Speculation that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. may leave the Democratic Party could turn President Joe Biden's 2024 nightmare reelection scenario into a reality.
Kennedy was asked by a voter at a town hall in North Charleston, South Carolina, this month whether he'd launch an independent bid for the White House. Although he has said he's determined to keep his ties to the party long associated with the Kennedy clan, the nephew of President John F. Kennedy and son of Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy didn't rule out anything.
"They're trying to make sure that I can't participate at all in the political process, and so I'm going to keep all my options open," Kennedy said of the Democratic National Committee.

As we saw in 1992 (and to a lesser extent, in 1980), in a 3-way race, the candidate with the strongest hold on its base wins, rather than the one that tries to ‘reach out’ or tries to go negative.
So, if Trump is the Republican nominee, he wins, easily. If anyone else is the Republican nominee, he loses and the Democrat wins.

RFK Jr. will not run third party. With all the blacklisting currently going on, he would have done so already if that was his issue.

I personally think they’re prepping Gavin Newsome for the role. Which would be delicious, considering the disaster that is California.
In 1980, Ross Pert was taking more votes from Republicans, it didn’t matter who had a hold on the base. It’s demographics.
Kennedy has NO chance if he stays with the DemonRats because they will make sure, by hook or crook, he is not the Demon’s candidate. If RFK Jr is serious, and I have listened to him enough to believe he is, he will have no choice but to go 3rd party.
The Biden Regime, despite an extensive report they were given by one of, if not THE top private security company in the country, on the threats including death threats, that are out there regarding RFK Jr., decided not to give him SS protection. The kindest take is that the Demons hope he burns up a good chunk of his campaign money paying for private security. The other thought is that if someone takes him out permanently, they won’t shed a tear & would be relieved if not happy about it. RFK Jr. is not a popular person politically with the DC Demons or even members of his own family.

Biden’s nightmare? America’s nightmare when Biden is turned out to pasture and the Mooch steps up as the DemonKKKrat candidate at the Convention.
The Libertarian candidate got over 1% of the vote nationwide in 2020.
Biden polled at 7% lead in final 2020 polls, particularly RCP’s average.
That number reflects the 5M lead in Calif and 2M lead in NY. Those two states encapsulated the entirety of the popular vote lead nationwide.
And thus, the swing states. All had final margins well inside 1%.
RFKjr can absolutely swing the swing states, but as the Libertarian nominee, you are looking at a Pro Choice candidate who wants to Drain the Swamp.
The Swamp is the ALL IMPORTANT issue next year. It is the Swamp doing the prosecutions. It is the Swamp that constitutes the GOPe and DEMe, and he would seek those votes.
Do not think RFKjr being on the ballot hurts Biden and helps Trump.
I tend to agree, RFK, Jr. will not run, but will become a factor after Ds assess the damage they’ve done. It’ll be quite easy to paint Newsom in that D corner.
