A shutdown shows Republican incompetence to get things done on time. To the cameras they only have pressers to discuss Hunter or Ukraine funding. The Speaker of the House promises but rarely delivers.
If he stood up to the Democrats and kept it shut until they caved it would be a winning issue, but Republicans always give up after a week or two and get nothing in return but deserved ridicule.
