“Don’t take everything so seriously.”
The childish Doomer response to everything they take seriously when confronted.
I’ve had 4 Hyundai/Kia vehicles over the years and two of them are on the list. But they’re all gone now. Just a couple of Subarus and a Silverado in our garage now.
When I was in pre-deployment at Fort Drum years ago it was -9 degrees every morning and that car started right up every darn time. I'm going to drive it until the wheels fall off (or it bursts into flames).
Good point...I count that in the “Inherent Design Flaw” category, but...great point.
I had a 1968 Dodge Dart and a 1966 Dodge van, both with the Slant Six, and that was absolutely the most reliable engine in any car I ever owned!
Yeah...what is that all about?
Why aren’t the Enviro-weenies screaming about that?
Not sure I understand. Who is the Doomer in this context? I was just engaging in lighthearted ribbing.
I had one of those.
It sucked out all of the coolant in under 20 seconds, huge plume of steam out the exhaust pipe.
“It sucked out all of the coolant in under 20 seconds, huge plume of steam out the exhaust pipe.”
Wow, you had a BIG crack.
Our son’s steam plume was fairly small and brief, only when starting the car.
My son’s Escape has a small crack, but enough to contaminate both the oil and coolant. He used an additive in the coolant that deposits hardened silica in the crack to block the leak. The high heat vitrifies it forming a good (but temporary) seal in the crack.
It worked good enough to get his car to pass California smog. We were really worried the chemicals in the coolant would contaminate the catalytic converter and kill its efficacy. The smog guys will fail any car with “smoke” coming out the tailpipe even if it is only steam. Thank goodness the treatment worked. He now has two years before another smog check is due and he can save up a down payment for a replacement car.
How did you unload yours?
“...until the wheels fall off (or it bursts into flames).”
LOL! I feel the same way about my 2001 VW Golf. 22 years old, under 60K in miles. She’s my ‘Summer Car’ and I love her. *HEART*
I’m in ‘The Driftless’ in Wisconsin - the glaciers missed us and we are NOTHING but hills. You truly DO have to ‘walk uphill both ways’ around here, LOL!
I drive my 4WD Ford F150 once the snow flies. ;)
A Subaru is going to be my Last Car Ever. SO good in the Wisconsin snow...as you probably know! :)
Thankfully, I had Amsoil in it so it didn't overheat.
I drove it about 3 miles at 70 MPH on the freeway, then around 5 miles in stop and go traffic to dealerships.
Traded it for a Jeep Renegade.
Oops we are on the list.
Oh, no! Hope it’s not too much of a hassle for you.
We were scheduled for Oct. 6 at the dealer for a software update. Grateful you posted this so we can ask for the fuse the same day.
Glad I could help! :)
Your skill set runs deep. 😁
