Is aspartame safe?

After reviewing scientific studies, the HHS Food and Drug Administration (FDA) determined in 1981 that aspartame was safe for use in foods. In 1987, the General Accounting Office investigated the process surrounding FDA’s approval of aspartame and confirmed the agency had acted properly.

Evaluation of Consumer Complaints Related to Aspartame Use

In summary, currently available information, based on data with limitations as described in the report, indicates a wide variety of complaints that are generally of a mild nature. Although it may be that certain individuals have an unusual sensitivity to the product, these data do not provide evidence for the existence of serious, widespread, adverse health consequences attendant to the use of aspartame. Reported by Div of Nutrition, Center for Health Promotion and Education, CDC.

One or more additional research groups...preferably ones affiliated with top medical schools...must reproduce these results for them to be accepted.

I recommend staying away from ALL artificial sweetners.

I do recommend Sucanat (a minimally processed cane sugar) over regular white sugar. Stevia, as far as I know, is decent sugar substitute.

Why not say during pregnancy instead of amid? It’s like saying as well as instead of and.

Artificial sweeteners of any kind from saccharine to cyclamates to aspartame are poison. No amount of any of these are safe long-term. Sugar itself is dangerous.

From what I understand, researchers searched and could not find a single case of autism where the person had not been vaccinated.

Yet, many studies claim there is no link between autism and vaccines.

The entire soft drinks and bottled water aisle of the supermarket is a tribute to the stupidity of the American public and its willingness to buy products that range from harmful to useless.

Without government bureaucratic agencies protecting us, who would approve chemicals in our food to give our children autism?
