The House Wednesday passed an amendment proposed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene that would slash the salary of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to $1.
Republican lawmakers voted to cut Mr. Austin‘s salary from more than $221,000 annually because of their discontent with his job performance.

Cutting his salary to $1 is essentially an act of cowardice by members of the House.

MTG, Lauren Boebert, and Matt Gaetz are the only Republicans “stepping out in front” and trying to do something.
It’s an act of compassion. His pay will go to zero during a shutdown. This would have given him a buck to make a panhandling sign to use during the shutdown. To not do so would be racist.
