Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis is taking the fight to former President Donald Trump, calling out the polling leader's refusal to debate as an indication Trump cannot beat President Joe Biden.
"He's not showing up: He's missing in action," DeSantis told HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher" on Friday night. "He owes it to voters to show up and defend his record. And I think he thinks he can take a juiced [up] poll, and then people don't get to vote. That's not the way the system works.
"You've got to go earn votes. So I'm showing up."
DeSantis is calling out Trump to a debate, like he has California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, pointing to his performance in the second debate — during which, pundits noted, he was presidential.
"I was the one guy that people said, 'You know what? This guy is actually acting like a president when the rest were not,'" DeSantis told Maher. "And so, OK, there I am. I told Donald, 'Let's do a debate.'
"I'm debating your governor, Gavin Newsom," DeSantis continued to Hollywood host Bill Maher.
"But let's do a debate with me and him. I'll do it."
DeSantis rejected Maher's belief Trump is unbeatable.
"That's not true," DeSantis said. "So, one, I don't think he can win the election. I could win the election. Two, I don't think he could actually get the job done that we need to do.
"For example: COVID. I think we need accountability for what this government did to this country with the COVID restrictions, mandates, and lockdowns. Donald Trump is not going to do that. He says he did everything right. He says he saved millions of lives with lockdowns. He claims his MNRA shot saved 100 million lives."

Apparently DeSantis is just in this race to ensure that President Trump does not win, because, if he could actually do math, he'd realize that none of the 8 dwarfs masquerading as competitors for the 2024 GOP POTUS candidates can possibly win the 2024 General Election, and in fact, would get absolutely smashed by even Biden, much less a more formidable candidate like Gruesome Nuesom!
Trump shows up every day and is the only one who can win.
Current polls show Trump beating Biden.
And the Meatball losing to Biden.

Trump is the only thing standing between the Democrat fascists and US citizens.

If Trump can’t win than none of the others could possibly win either since they are all significantly less popular than Trump and would run the risk of losing Trump’s base that they would need to win in the general.
National polls are meaningless. Can Trump win in Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin and Georgia?
Somebody like Glenn Youngkin was able to keep the MAGA base in Virginia but he could appeal to the white women in the suburbs who are the swing voters right now.
When you’re in the deep state, what you say is always the opposite of the truth.

DeSantis is right, Trump is not going to win, NO REPUBLICAN IS GOING TO WIN, dems have mastered cheating, say goodbye to our country.
I think the media wants Trump to win the nomination because they think he’s the least likely Republican to win the general. That’s why these ridiculous stories about how he’s 10 points ahead of Biden are coming out.
Meanwhile, Trump — who is up 30 points in the state — is in Iowa today. And Trump was stumping in California on Friday.
The DeSantis "missing-in-action" talking point is just bizarre. I think it's a typically slimy, backhanded way to remind people of Trump's intense court "calendar."

...and beyond that, if the Republican Base thinks that DeSantis or any of the others STOLE the nomination from Trump by supporting all this indictment crap, JFK Jr. just may end up in the White House.

Exactly. While the 7 dwarves were on stage bickering with each other, Trump was in Michigan with voters laying out his vision for a second administration. Trump is focused on what’s important, and it ain’t DeSantis.

I disagree. I think the media, as the mouthpiece of the Deep State, is showing their fear of Trump for the exact reason that they think he CAN win the election. The fake polls may be preparation for the eventual replacement of Biden, and the promotion of someone they think has a much better chance against Trump.
Yes, as long as no toilets overflow late at night or the power goes out.
