Graham says Ukraine aid will not be separated from border funding

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday he expects Ukraine aid will not be separated from border funding as Congress tried to figure out a path forward after a shutdown bill left Ukraine out.

“To those who say we need to fix our border, you’re right,” Graham said on CBS News’s “Face The Nation.” “To those who say we need to help Ukraine, you’re right. To those who say we need to do the border, not Ukraine, you’re wrong.”

I don’t know why increasing funding for the border is such a big deal for conservatives, as it will just increase the speed at which our Border Patrol can process the paperwork needed to move the migrants northbound.

What do the Ukraine bribes have to do with securing our border?

Just enforce the laws that are already on the books. No extra spending is required to secure the border. We have the most expensive military in the history of mankind, but we waste it away on Ukraine and tens of other shitholes where there is zero national interests. We don’t defend our own border, which IS the reason we have a military. That needs to change.

Linda Graham can go to hell along with every braindead Zeeper.

Throwing money at our border won’t do shit until we decide to defend it.

Just another conduit to Ukraine and the cartels.

Border funds get put to use by the executive branch, correct? Or can brandon and comp just not use/do anything with the funds?

These bastards are determined to shove Ukraine down the throats of 71% of the GOP electorate who oppose further funding.

I'm in favor of assistance to Ukraine, as you all know, and my attackers almost all scream that the money should go for protecting our southern border instead. But money is not the issue down there - actual enforcement of our law IS. No matter how much $$ this Administration is given "for border security" they'll use it to increase the flow of aliens, criminals, and terrorists. Funding for the Administration's pet projects, like f'instance more EV subsidies, has to be predicated on actual results. Say, 1 million $ when 50% reduction in the number of illegals per month is certified by Texas law enforcenent. Or better yet how about $1000 in EV subsidies per hundred illegals actually deported?

Sadly they are intricately entwined by congreecritters with an agenda.

The only connection is that both call for US Dollars. Congresscritters believe that if you are for one, you will also agree with the other in order to fund your goal.

Graham is a joke and needs to keep his pie hole closed.

Thank you for referencing that article ChicagoConservative27.

""... To those who say we need to do the border, not Ukraine, you’re wrong.”"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Post-17th Amendment ratification Sen. Graham needs to reconsider his statement imo.

More specifically, given constitutionally limited federal government power to appropriate taxes, peacetime foreign aid is unconstitutional imo.

Justice Joseph Story had put it this way about peacetime foreign aid.

If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).

Can you give us an accounting of over $113 Billion we have given to Ukraine?
Like exactly where the money went once Ukraine got our money?

Graham is not a credible source on anything. He says stuff and then when it comes time for a vote, normally backs down on what he as said. It will happen with this too.
