Who? There were eight Republicans who voted for McCarthy. Of those eight, NONE OF THEM will get votes except by the other seven. Jordan is a good choice.

We just played right into the lefty hands and will now lose the House and Presidency because the Dems will play this as the do nothing congress. Just childish. I campaigned and donated $s for Trump in 2016 and 2020, and will vote for him but will save my $s and time.
So was Trump -- probably for the same reason. When the GOP House members held their vote last year to select the party's candidate for the House Speaker position, McCarthy had the support of almost 190 House Republicans out of the 218 he needed to be elected as Speaker.
At the time, it was a no-brainer. When one candidate has 190 supporters and the rest of them have about 30 COMBINED, it's hard to make the case that someone other than the front-runner should be elected.
