en. Mitt Romney said House Republicans were on a “pathway to chaos” after eight of them voted with all House Democrats to oust former Speaker Kevin McCarthy from his leadership position.
The small, angry group of Republicans who toppled McCarthy had him in their crosshairs after he headed off a government shutdown by bringing a bill to the floor Saturday that extended funding for the government for 45 days.
With McCarthy gone, a shutdown may be more likely, given how difficult it will be for Republicans to pass all of the necessary spending bills by the mid-November deadline.
Romney, R-Utah, noted the problem caused by a “power vacuum” in the House in his remarks to HuffPost, saying it will make it more difficult to pass legislation.

Why does nobody say how the DEMOCRATS enabled all of this?
The motion put forward was a motion to vacate the chair.
The motion needed a majority vote of the entire Congress, not just Republicans, to pass.
If the Democrats didn’t want this to happen, then the Democrats would have voted NO on the motion to vacate the chair.
Only 8 Republicans voted to vacate the chair.
The vote was not to elect a new Speaker. The vote was to terminate the existing Speaker.
Just counting the votes, the Republicans didn’t cause all this chaos. Democrat votes are what did it.
How can Democrats be intellectually honest, and say how awful all this chaos is, when it wouldn’t have happened except for their own party members voting for this?
And how can you be the only person to notice this, or point it out?
