This is not to say that Matt Gaetz has done everything right, but it occurs to me that the broad GOP response to him upsetting the apple cart kind of reminds me of the response to Trump when he did the same thing to the Washington status quo.

NO THEY WOULDN'T, we learned from Nancy Pelosi in the 2 impeachment and Jan 6 hearings that they are merely "suggestions" and are not Binding on the majority party.
