It would have been grand if the Senate Leader stood up and said, “He lied under oath about screwing around, it is an impeachable offense. However, look at that bitch he is married to. I will not allow this legitimate impeachment to go forward. This impeachment trial is over. Drinks in one hour in the Senate private chambers, Bill Clinton is welcome.”

The really alarming thing is that he is quite likely representative of the average Democrat/leftist. They will claim they don't believe you should be persecuted or hauled off. But if/when it happens they won't give it a second thought. They will turn you in to the thought police in a heartbeat.
I don’t disagree. The left is hateful, delusional, and can justify anything to themselves if it fits with their selfish and dysfunctional world view. They love to call people ‘Nazis’, but they are oblivious to the fact that they are the real Nazis.
