BMW Motorrad has lifted a temporary stop-sale for its entire gasoline motorcycle line in North America, which had resulted in the company only selling electric motorbikes.

Too late.
Don’t “rice rockets” get like 70 mpg?
BMW can get bent.
Yup. Too late.
I used to ride. If I ever get ahead enough to buy a new car, BMW is off my list for that too now. Permanently.
Don’t know about BMW, but typical motorcycle is getting you 45-55 mpg readily or more.

My wife has a BMW Z4.
The transmission is bad at 109k.................
Sorry for the double post. My browser is acting wonky.
It seems odd to target motorcycles for green complaints.
Then again, logic isn’t their strong suit.
BMW CE 04 - only an 80 mile range.
Why would I buy an ICE motorcycle from a company that has made it clear that those bikes will be orphaned for service ASAP.
I quit riding because I got tired of idiots trying to kill me.
Gold wing rider for over 40 years.
I have a 1,000 CC BMW in my shop.
Just sitting there.
Gas powered motorcycles will probably be the last gas powered vehicles in the US
Auto in a Z4? That's your first mistake :)
“The issue prompting the stop-sale notice was likely related to emissions, as the company indicated there was no safety concern for bikes already on the road and did confirm that it was “pursuing measures to further evaluate the material used in a component of its motorcycle evaporative system, which may not have been produced to material specifications.”
Everyone unlax and stop with the knee-jerk reactions.
The stop-sale order wasn’t some eco-politcal statement, looks like BMW was trying to make sure they weren’t going to have to do some mass recall on the gas powered bikes.
No plans to ever get another Bimmer however. The stable is already full of other, much better bikes.
BMW did this voluntarily…. Stupid.
I don’t care if you want to make electric bikes if you can find a market, but I know I wouldn’t buy one. Don’t ride any more but when I did I would disappear for days. Idea of having to worry about range or finding a charger etc is just stupid.
Most riders only ride local and only on nice days for them an electric might fit their needs.
BMW bikes were always a bit of oddballs to me. However if that what someone wants let ‘em
How stupid can you be?
