This woman was evidently the “security coordinator” for the kibbutz. So she was able to open the local armory, and distribute weapons.
But what if she was absent that day? Or out in some field picking berries? Then I guess everyone in the kibbutz is dead.
This surprises me. I would have thought that Israel would require every adult citizen to have a weapon available. Or at least require every military veteran to have a weapon available. But I guess like most governments, Israel doesn’t really trust their citizens.
Yeah I was really surprises to find out that the Israeli Gov disarmed its citizens. One of the reason the kibbutz system exists is to provide defensive nodes to slow down and bleed an attacker
Hell this is a tactics that goes all they way back to Alfred the Greats Burg system to counter Viking raids. How stupid do you have to be to disarm your defenders?
Hell, for that matter, no government trusts their citizens because the see armed citizens as a threat to the government.
Unfortunately gun laws pretty are tight in Israel...you would think every adult there should be armed!
