Israel's Netanyahu forms unity government with ex-Defense Minister Gantz

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Benny Gantz agreed on Wednesday to form an emergency unity government as the fighting with Hamas in Gaza continued for a fifth day.

Why it matters: The fact that Gantz, a member of the opposition, is joining the government underscores how big the crisis in Israel is as a result of the deadly Hamas attack.

As a former defense minister, Gantz's role in the new unity government will significantly strengthen the security experience around the decision-making table. Gantz has for months been gaining more favorability than Netanyahu in the polls, mainly due to the government's controversial judicial overhaul.

Driving the news: Since the Hamas attack on Saturday, Gantz and opposition leader Yair Lapid have called for the formation of a unity government.

Benjamin Franklin: We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.

Not the time to play politics in Israel, although I am sure some is still going on.

Look for U.S. Air Power to intervene if Hezbollah decides to start launching Missiles/Rockets from Lebanon.

Don't 'cha know that that the likes of "I've never seen a country that should not be invaded or bombed," Lindsey and his cohorts are licking their chops after their great win in Ukie/Zelensky land.

It is possible that the Israeli libs have lost their gains all the way back to ‘73 war.
When Golda was caught flat footed, the political climate changed.
Maybe Israel will finally learn if they get all their advice from the NYT, they get NYC with all its problems and no solutions.

Netanyahu hasn't called to ax for my advice yet, but when he does I'm gonna tell him to procure an at least serviceable firearm for every adult Israeli citizen who wants one. For individual defensive use against terrorists, a handgun might actually be a good start because of its portability. (Just one's NSHO.)

It's insane that a country in Israel's strategic situation, that has compulsory military training for youngsters, actually does not respect the divinely-endowed right to self-defense and accordingly to bear arms.

Exception for those with previous criminal convictions, etc, but one would consider those aberrational exceptions.

Next time, shoot the ****** ******s.

Now the U.S. Congress needs to unify. Have GOP reps cast votes for either Scalise or Jordan. Whoever has the most votes in round one has one unanimous vote cast for them in round two - simple.
