McCarthy wouldn’t have gotten elected to begin with if the party caucus didn’t want someone like him.
The idea that Gaetz’s maneuver would have resulted in somebody substantially more conservative was delusional.
But leftists hate Scalise so much that he might not turn out to be that bad.
I heard that they did not get along—at least not in recent times—and that Scalise was not happy with Kevin. Who knows.
