There is a problem created by politicians who have built their careers on lying and cheating about almost everything almost all of the time.
If they ever do tell the truth about something accidentally or intentionally there is no way to convince the public that they aren't lying or cheating again.
The sad situation for America now is that almost all federal government bureaucracies and employees are well known to be, or believed to be, full time liars and cheaters.
So no rational person has any trust at all in anything they say and do.
Especially after all the “wolf” crying about the COVID cooties.
