Hern appears to be the sleeper candidate. He’s solidly conservative, supports former President Donald Trump, and is liked by moderates who won’t back Jordan.Need more info.

I love that the deciding factor is Trump.

The budget vote in mid-Nov may be very interesting.

With such a narrow margin in the House, the Republicans have to be almost unanimous behind their man, when this goes to the full House for the vote. Stay tuned.

I like Scalise but he is not what we need right now in a Speaker of the House.

That’s what I’d heard. It was just an act of petulance by the RINOs to vote for Scalise knowing he wouldn’t get the votes in the full House.

Good, don’t want any leader that supports aid to Ukraine.
so, may Jordan or Donalds or someone completely new. Definitely no one that was part of McCarthy leadership.
And I was reminded this week of Jordan’s questionable past in the disgusting wrestling scandal. Maybe not him at all.

I’m getting nervous. If Republicans can’t agree on a candidate we might end up with Hakeem Jeffries.

It’s always chaos with the GOP. Most of them RINO’s or better yet, Assistant Democrats. There are a small number of true conservatives and patriots.
Meanwhile, the Democrats are virtual Marxists, and vote in lockstep per their leader Hakeem J’s orders.

I'm less concerned about who the speaker is, and more concerned about how they are going to stand up to the Democrats.
The new speaker, whoever it is, should be able to stand firm on returning to regular order on the budget, and also be willing to end the Ukraine ATM machine.
To: SoConPubbie
The best thing would seem to be to let Patrick McHenry continue as acting Speaker. He is immune from being vacated!
