The Warsaw Ghetto in WWII was not a Hell hole until the Germans went in to to exterminate all of the Jews. Till the end fight, the Jewish people in the Ghetto actively worked to make it better. Even with a lack of food, clean water and fuel to heat buildings, the place was peaceful.
