No, Kevin — you are a bloviating fool. As the minority party, the Democrats can’t pass or block anything in the House.
Instead, Democrats stabbed him in the back and Democrats showed up and voted against him so ensure he was ousted.
Now Nancy is very close effectively putting a Democrat controlled Speaker into the house.
If you live in the real world and have to deal with the reality of what is possible.
The recent crap with Mike Rodgers highlights what McCarthy had to deal with.
Rodgers is the Matt Gaetz of the RINO wing of the Republican caucus and he wields a lot of clout. He has obviously been playing the Vacate the Chair blackmail game with McCarty behind the scenes and has been plotting the almost inevitable RINO- Democrat “moderate” axis coup since McCarthy was elected.
It's all coming together for him now.
Under the crappy hand McCarthy was deal in this ungovernable situation, the best he could have hoped for is pretty much what he was doing, trying to patch holes to the extent that he could and to concentrate on winning a more secure majority in 2024.
Now we are in a high stakes disaster navigating uncharted waters at the worst possible time.
Pray the Republicans can come together under Jim Jordan but the RINO wing hates Jordan with a passion so the back room deals they will have to cut to Jim Jordan in place is going to seriously hobble him as Speaker until at least after the 2024 elections.
I don't think that Jordan's tenure as Speaker will be all that much different than McCarthy's unless the Vacate the Chair rule is rescinded to allow Jim Jordan to be the benevolent tyrant a successful Speaker needs to be.
Short of that, Jordan will have to deal with same dynamics that McCarthy had to deal with and will have to navigate the same narrow straights McCarthy had to.
Absent the rescinding of the Vacate the Chair rule, Jordan's tenure will be more a matter of style rather than substance over what McCarthy's tenure.
Frankly, a strong case could be made that we would be lucky to have McCarthy back at this point.
