Jeff Landry with 52.10 percent of the vote Democrat Shawn Wilson at 25.42 percent 12 other candidates splitting the rest in this open primary.
If a candidate gets 50 percent plus one vote they win outright.
Landry is the winner.

HOW?
How could a Trump endorsed MAGA candidate possibly win in 2023?
I suspect this win will be investigated by every investigative agency in the Dept of Just-Us and even by the UN.
Impossible. Impossible, I tell you/

I'm also surprised the left apparently got crushed in NZ tonight. I seriously doubted the guy that replaced Jacinda Ardern would get kicked out after one term... Labour seemed to put the wool over the voters eyes and pick a guy who PM who came across as a harmless lovable "folky" candidate who cares about the little guy, instead of a dangerous leftist ideologue wacko or an out of touch limousine liberal elitist. Slick "John Edwards 2004" (before people realized Edwards was scum) type candidate:

It’s the economy folks and NZ hit hard by inflation.
Ardern left earlier this year but COVID left a bad taste in NZ especially in the wallet her party was toast.
Winston Peters who does the local version of Trump got over 6 percent of the vote for his New Zealand First party and eight seats in Parliament.
May have a shot at joining the new gov’t but they will try to keep him out.
