LOL, knowing them intimately as I do from past experience (and fully recognizing they know nothing about us as conservatives) that is a question I would never pose because the answer is already known to me!
My response is related to the adage: “If you want to anger a Conservative, tell them a lie. If you want to unhinge a Leftist, tell them the truth!
Deep down, in their buried subconscious, they know that those things we believe in are worth believing in...the right to defend yourself, the right to speak your mind, and the necessity of managing financial affairs.
Those are fundamental truths.
They know all that those things are true, deep, deep inside them. But were they to bring those fundamentally true beliefs to the surface and acknowledge them, it would force them to disown what they currently believe in because those truths cannot consciously and peacefully co-exist in the brain with what they believe in.
And they cannot have that.
So, they bury it deep, and the terrible, corrosive, destructive cognitive dissonance that buried truth creates expresses itself in the bizarre, unfiltered, insane (to us) behavior we see from them. The bizarre irrationality, the screaming, the hate, the bared teeth, the violence, all of it.
That cognitive dissonance bounces around on the insides of their craniums, running into their cognitive software controlling rationality and self control, and destroys it.
Long answer, but...I know precisely which hypothetical billboard would cause them to froth at the mouth!
