He seems to be the only one stepping up to the plate. Where is our state department and embassy? This is their job to get Americans home and provide assistance.

“This is their (State Dept.) job to get Americans home and provide assistance.”

Only if the people are there on official USA business. For tourists, etc., nope. If they’re stupid enough to travel to areas with a high risk of war, they’re on their own. Not our problem, and not with our tax dollars.

Do you not understand civics? This is not the job of the governors to spend their people’s monies IN some foreign country that should be going to the citizens of THE STATE. Good grief, Your DeSanti cheering is looking stupid. Catch up on your civics.

the U.S. did not want Israel as part of the coalition, because we were afraid it would make the Muslims/Arabs mad and hate the Jews?

You have been around FR for long enough to remember that is EXACTLY how it went down.

Quit playing dumb.

He brought Americans home, Americans the US abandoned and should have been taking care of.

And I don’t see anything wrong with some donations ESPECIALLY in light of the amount of money states regularly disperse to illegals.

Your DeSantis hate is clouding your judgment.

Very well said. These crazies really do stink up the place, don't they? They sure have a lot of time on their hand, apparently. A pity they don't use it for something good.

I haven't given up on Trump, but I've sure given up on these drooling idiots who kiss the ground he walks on. They are the 'democrat underground' contingent here on FR. We'd be much better off without them.

Then it appears if we’re to believe that BS strategy, it was yet another epic failure.

Every time I reconsider going back to support Trump, the raving nutters who idolize him while mocking Governor DeSantis and disparaging thoughtful FReepers reinforce my decision to avoid DJT in 2024. Funny how that works.

There is active bias playing out with members of the Sidebar/Admin Moderators here on FR. Called them out on it last night. They "disappear" threads which are positive for DeSantis by deleting all of the designated Topics. Has happened multiple times. Meanwhile, they promote month-old and duplicate/triplicate threads which disparage DeSantis (e.g. 4-5 threads about a Bill Maher interview) by spamming the Florida Topic sidebar and other FR Topics.

I have fond memories for the multiple times I have attended FR freedom, conservatism and activism events in D.C. with JimRob and others over the years. I enjoy intelligent debate with thoughtful FReepers. To see FR reduced to the miserable lot of contemptible rodents is disturbing.

NautiNurse, I have to agree with everything you said. This place is being polluted by a very small, abusive minority with way too much time on their hands. I don't think we need to name names.

I have spent a fair bit of time trying to reason with these people, but reason is not a skill they seem to possess. I've gotten a bit angry with a few, as well, I have to admit. They have nothing better to do, I suppose. Part of me feels sorry for them, actually, but their constant attacks and derision of anyone they mistakenly perceive as an obstacle to Donald Trump's re-election is, at best, counterproductive.

Yes, we did some serious activism things early on -- I first joined in March of 2000 and this forum was instrumental in helping me and the TRT organize the very successful counter-demonstration in San Diego to the 'Million Mom March' back in May of 2000, and some great FReeps afterwards, like when Bill Clinton (remember him?) visited our fair city. Heady times. That doesn't seem to happen much any more.

FReepers are leaving this forum because of this -- who needs the abuse? The same thing we saw happen from the 'Trump/Cruz wars' of 2015. We lost a lot of good people from that. Most of the folks I've known here have left now. This place is becoming like a ghost town.

Totally agree with you, FRiend. My husband and I also have fond memories of the many, many times we've attended FReeper protests, rallies and other events (some with JimRob and his lovely family) over the past couple of decades. I barely recognize FR anymore.

Amen. Emphasis on VERY SMALL abusive MINORITY, by the way.

FReepers are leaving this forum because of this -- who needs the abuse? The same thing we saw happen from the 'Trump/Cruz wars' of 2015. We lost a lot of good people from that. Most of the folks I've known here have left now. This place is becoming like a ghost town.

I remember The Great FR Purge of 2007. It all got started because a few FReepers dared to say some positive things about Rudy Giuliani, who was running for president in the primary. I lost a lot of good FRiends on this site because of that Purge. I was never able to find them again after they got zotted. (Or they left on their own) It's too bad, as some of those former FReepers were real movers and shakers here then.

I expressed displeasure on FR that Trump called DeSantis "DeSanctimonious" the very first time he did it during one of his rallies. I was immediately attacked by a cyber pack of wild dogs here... accusing me of being a Trump-hater, a traitor, a democRAT, etc. etc.

One of the 'wild dog packs' was/is the usual contingent of Mean Girls. With them, you do not DARE say one disparaging word against the great Donald J. Trump. All I said was I didn't like Trump attacking his own (a fellow Republican), and I didn't like the juvenile name he was calling DeSantis. I like both Trump and DeSantis, to be honest. But that's not good enough for the purists... It's DJT or get off this site. My way or the highway.

Anyway... you're right. This place is becoming a ghost town. It's nothing like FR back in its heyday during the early 2000s. It was an exciting place back then. A time when FReepers didn't just report on the news, they made the news at times. The Breaking News articles updated constantly, ahead of the worldwide media at times. Rush Limbaugh (and many other conservative commentators and pundits) used FR as show prep. FReepers could actually have rational discussions over their differences.

I really miss those days... and I miss the good people who used to make this place rock. Too bad many of them apparently weren't "pure" enough.
