Why the French? Was he in Quebec and the reporters were French speakers, or was he showing off his French for the cameras, or did he think French would make him sound less US/anglo and play better with international audiences?

Why the French?
PMs answer questions in both languages, since Canada is "officially bilingual"
if he answered just in English, Quebec would complain about getting shafted
but I gotta admit, I like #22 better, lol!
