NIGEL FARAGE: 'I will be Conservative Party Leader by 2026'
MSN / The Independent ^ | Oct 20 | Story by Jon Stone

Posted on 10/20/2023 1:15:26 AM PDT by RandFan

Speaking at a book launch in Westminster on Tuesday Mr Farage told the PoliticsHome website that he would soon be doing Mr Sunak's job.

Teasing Conservative MPs present at the event, the former Ukip leader initially said he was serious but later said he was joking.

“I’d be very surprised if I were not Conservative leader by ‘26. Very surprised," he told the website.

“They think I’m joking," he said, referring to others present, adding: "I’m serious.”

He later tried to row back on his comments and said they were meant “in jest”.

Mr Farage quit the Tories 30 years ago over the Maastricht Treaty, which John Major signed Britain up to.

This year's was the first conference he has attended since 1988. A previous attempt in 2013 to attend the party gathering was blocked by the party.

Mr Farage is a controversial figure and views on him differ, even in the Tory party. Jacob Rees-Mogg, a staunch Brexiteer, has said his party should "roll out the red carpet" for the ex-Brexit party leader if he ever wanted to rejoin.

This guy is the obvious choice for PM.

Him, Trump, Merloni, that guy in Argentina who is very smart and very conservative, Javier Milei...

Whoever replaces the communist kid of Castro in Canada, Le Pen, whoever runs AFD in Germany...

All Super Friends who will unite and straighten out the world in the Great Awakening and Reform that has begun.

He’s not even an MP, let alone a Conservative MP.

You can’t be Prime Minister without being a Member of Parliament of the party you want to lead.

Humza Yousef is already an MSP, Leader of the SNP, and First Minister of Scotland. While his parents my be from Pakistan, he was born in Rutherglen.

I’m not defending the man, he was handpicked by the corrupt Nicola Sturgeon to succeed her after all. But, all that has happened so far that he stated he would like refugees. Since the Scottish Government does not control immigration, it’s nothing more than virtue signaling at this point.

The biggest divide in Scottish politics is currently between Unionists and Nationalists.

Yes, but which Conservative MP would actually resign to make room for Nigel Farage?

That’s one of those ideas that is great in theory, but fails in reality. Farage has no base of support among Conservative MPs, and there is no shortage of Tories who would like the top job who have support.

Kemi Badenoch would be far better than Farage and does not have his baggage.

If he’s elected leader someone will resign or be bought off to leave a district vacant then he runs and wins.

There is also the option to go to the Lords and become Lord Farage. The PM can come from the upper house too (equivalent of the Senate) by appointment but it’s not been done for a long time and kind of looks undemocratic/bad.

The Lords way might be his best option to be honest.

It would be hilarious to have a Prime Minister from the House of Lords.

I dont think its been done since the 1800s but theoretically possible.

Scotland now has the same kind of voting machines we do.

The UK already does.

That’s all their Deep State needs.

Britain already does...

The UK has the same problem we do.

It is now controlled by its Deep State.

Since the Scottish Government does not control immigration

...and neither does anyone else in the UK! Blair opened the floodgates, and the Conservatives (in power for the past 13 years!) have done diddly squat to fix things, just the opposite.

If Yousef decides to import Palis to Scotland, there's no one who will stop him.
