Would House Democrats help the GOP's next speaker candidate?
Despite Aguilar's public comments, multiple sources told ABC News that there were ongoing conversations among House Democrats about what to do if Emmer were unable to get the votes needed for speaker and whether Democrats would make a play to help. While no decision had been made, multiple Democrats had signaled they would be open to helping Emmer by voting "present" or sitting out the vote to make it easier for him to win. It's unclear if that changes now that Emmer is out of the race.
I will rest easier tonight.
I go to Mr. Google to learn what promises McCarthy broke and it's like finding peas floating in a lake. Do you have a link that reveals his broken promises?

It is good that Emmer is out after the truth about him became known. Now, draft Trump as Speaker for 100 days, impeach Biden and Harris and let Trump save the Country with his dynamic genius.

Well said. That is my biggest gripe about rino McCarthy. He doesn’t care one bit about his party base, or the rule of law, keeping political prisoners helps him pretend to be conservative while supporting the liberal agenda. I hope at some point he wins up the victim of our communist legal system.

How many years has it been now that conservatives have been told to “compromise”, “work across the aisle” and “settle” for the political leaders of which Democrats would approve? At least 30 years that I can think of without doing math and remembering all the speakers of the House. (I still think of the 70’s when someone mentions “30 years ago”).
It is way past time that conservatives took a hard stand for their beliefs. The compromises has brought us to the place that girls are having their breasts cut off and college students are cheering for Muslim terrorists.
I’ll not support or vote for appeasement or compromise any longer.
