New York Supreme Court Reinstates All Employees Fired For Being Unvaccinated, Orders Backpay

State Supreme Court found that being vaccinated 'does not' stop the spread of COVID-19

A New York state Supreme Court ordered all New York City employees who were fired for not being vaccinated to be reinstated with back pay.

The court found Monday that "being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19." New York City Mayor Eric Adams claimed earlier this year that his administration would not rehire employees who had been fired over their vaccination status.

NYC fired roughly 1,700 employees for being unvaccinated earlier this year after the city adopted a vaccine mandate under former Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Many of those fired were police officers and firefighters.

FDNY-Uniformed Firefighters Association President Andrew Ansbro and FDNY-Uniformed Fire Officers Association President Lt. James McCarthy condemned Adams earlier this year after the mayor allowed an exception to the vaccine mandate for athletes and performers, even as firefighters were still being fired over their status. The pair called on the city to expand the exception to all New Yorkers.

"We're here to say that we support the revocation of the vaccine mandate that the mayor announced on Thursday," McCarthy said. "We think that it should be extended as well. We support the revocation of the mandate for the athletes and performers that work in New York City. We think that the people that work for New York City should also have the mandate relocated for them."

"If you're going to remove the vaccine mandate for certain people in the city, you need to remove it for everybody in the city," Ansbro said. "If you're going to follow the science, science is going to tell you there isn't any danger right now, and putting hundreds of firefighters, …

Now remember this FRiends. Plan ahead and have savings so you can ride out the next "epidemic" they are planning. You know you won't have lost your job forever. And if you are a government employee, you'll even get your back pay handed over. So stick to your guns, hold out, and live a longer healthier life for having shown a little spine next time.

That is a strange ranking you have there in NY. Two levels above Supreme. Wow

Yeah in many places it is what would be called “superior” court. It’s so titled because it has the authority to hear any case (even if they are usually relegated to other courts), as opposed to other courts whose jurisdictions are outlined by statute.

ok, so lets do a little math.

Lets assume average New York city employee earns $100,000, it’s been 3 years since the firings.

So that’s $100,000 x 3 = $300,000 owed to each approximately.

1,700 employees x $300,000 = $510,000,000

and lets just round that down to an even $500,000,000.

So... half a billion this is probably going to cost them.

You may have lived in NY for 30 years but I’d wager you didn’t practice much law in NY during that time. The Supreme Court has *two* layers above it (the appellate division and the Court of Appeals)

Sounds like great news. Take the money and then tell them they can take their job and shove it. There is another initiative to denigrate them just around the corner.

Before everyone gets too excited, the NY Supreme Court is a trial court of general jurisdiction. The highest court is the court of appeals. Below that is the appellate division.

Under NY law, the Supreme Court order directing reinstatement with back pay is automatically stayed during the lengthy appeals process.

Good news. It will be interesting to see what they do with the replacements.

In WA State, we are still struggling with reduced staff in many areas of public sector employment, like the ferry system, because the new employees must still be vaccinated. They had a terrible time replacing the football coaches at WA State. A two million dollar a year contract and no one wanted it, the same with the assistant coach.

“being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19.”

I do hope this means Moderna and Pfizer etc. will be sued out of existence and those running this evil scam are thrown in jail.

Great news.

As the Reagan cabinet member Raymond Donovan, falsely accused and destroyed by the leftist media.
On May 25, 1987, Donovan (and all of the other defendants) was acquitted, after which Donovan was famously quoted as asking, “Which office do I go to get my reputation back?”

I would think most of the people who lost their jobs, livelihoods and professional careers suddenly and had to work in difficult or awkward situations as they battled to get back have not had good lives.
