I visited Universal Studios with my wife in 1985. As we walked around the grounds, we encountered "Mr T". I was floored. He is almost as tall as the top of my shoulder. Later, we checked out another stage full of "greek warriors". Lots of well muscled body builders. They were also barely as tall as my shoulder. I'm 5 ft 11 in. Down from 6 ft 3/8 in at age 13.
I looked up Mr T for official height. 5 ft 10 in. My perception was due to not standing on level ground right next to him.
