I read that as the shooting began there was a retired police officer at the event. He was unarmed. It could have ended after a few shots if people were armed.

I read that as the shooting began there was a retired police officer at the event. He was unarmed. It could have ended after a few shots if people were armed. Like the one at the mall in Texas a year ago. The shooter only had 8 seconds before he'd been plugged.
