Ron DeSantis's administration is linking a pro-Palestinian student organization to terrorism and is ordering state universities to ban the group from campuses, saying it illegally backs Hamas militants who attacked Israel earlier this month.

State university system Chancellor Ray Rodrigues wrote to university presidents Tuesday at Gov. Ron DeSantis' urging, directing them to disband chapters of SJP after the national group took the position that "Palestinian students in exile are PART of this movement, not in solidarity with this movement."

The ban came after the only Jewish Republican in the state Legislature switched his support in the presidential election from DeSantis to former President Donald Trump, saying DeSantis doesn't back up his pro-Israel words with action.

Might be upheld in court if it was based on advocacy or commission of crimes or other types of unprotected speech.

Yeah, I don’t like their position either, but this is unconstitutional on its face.

“ Who would you rather have as Florida’s governor?”

No one. Perhaps he should give up on his obviously disastrous Presidential campaign and go back to Florida.

Someone other than desantis, who has shown he

tells lies,
manipulates people,
is corrupt, like where he has laundered $83 million in campaign funds, and spent state of Florida money, to further his political carreer
is supported by the swamp GOPe rino uniparty...

There’s more, but you get the idea...

Not really. This particular group declared themselves members of a terrorist organization. Explicitly.

“Palestinian students in exile are PART of this movement, not in solidarity with this movement.”

They explicitly declared themselves members of a named terrorist organization. They also clarified that they did not mean merely that they had similar goals.

Is he going to send State Police, or National Guard to help the campus security to enforce that order? If not, it’s a worthless order. There aren’t enough police on college campuses to stop that crap.

Seeing as he made sure he would continue to get a paycheck for a job he isn't actually doing.
