A poll of Americans found that an overwhelming number support Israel's war on Hamas terrorists, but a majority of younger Americans were sympathetic to the plight of Palestinians.
The Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll found that 84% of respondents sided with Israel while only 16% sided with the Hamas militants.
Among older Americans aged 65 years and older, 95% said they supported Israel while only 5% said they supported Hamas.
A slight majority of 51% of Americans aged 18 to 24 years said that the terror attack by Hamas on Israel could be justified by the grievances of Palestinians. 49% of those the same ages disagreed that the attack could be justified.
“There is strong support for Israel across all parties and against Hamas. They think Israel should not cease hostilities until they have weakened Hamas,” said Mark Penn, a co-director of the poll.
“However, those of college age are split on the Israel-Hamas issue," he continued, "many of them do not believe Hamas committed any atrocities and that Israel was responsible for the hospital bombing. Seniors in contrast provide universal support for Israel."
A previous poll from CBS News also showed that most Americans didn't believe President Joe Biden was handling the Middle East conflict very well.
The poll also found that a majority of Americans, 56%, disapprove of Biden's handling of the Israel-Hamas war, while only 44% approved of his handling. 76% said that the U.S. should send humanitarian aid to Israel while 48% said the U.S. should send weapons and supplies to Israel.
“American leadership is what holds the world together. America’s alliances are what keep us safe,” Biden said in an address to the nation about the Israeli conflict.
“American values are what make us a partner that other nations want to work with," he added. "To put all of that at risk if we walk away from Ukraine and turn our backs on Israel. It’s just not worth it.”
Many young Americans have what Rush used to refer to as “young skulls full of mush.”
A steady diet of propaganda works wonders.
Not all young people are terminally stupid, but too many are these days, and you can thank our educational institutions for this crap, and ourselves for continuing to allow it.

Young people see “Israel” as a White western style nation Hamas as poor brown people. Therefore Israel is bad and Hamas is good.
I doubt they put much more thought into than that.
Students in the USA have been brainwashed with Communist propaganda and have been for decades. Members of Congress have known this going back to 1980 or before and did NOTHING about it. I contributed documentation to the education committee that issued the report “A Nation At Risk.”
