Newly minted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA.) suggests that one of his first business orders is to advance efforts to impeach President Joe Biden.
During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Johnson said that removing Biden from office is a real possibility due to the president's ties to his family's corrupt money-funneling scheme.
Johnson said that the Republican Party is the rule-of-law party and will follow the truth where it leads and engage in due process.
"We have the receipts on so much of this now," Johnson explained, suggesting that Biden was involved in his family's foreign business dealings. "It's a real problem."
"That's the reason that we shifted into the impeachment inquiry stage on the president himself because if, in fact, all the evidence leads to where we believe it will, that's very likely impeachable offenses," he added. "That's listed as a cause for impeachment in the Constitution — bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors."
Republicans have been after Biden for months after explosive revelations revealed the president was involved in his son's shady foreign businesses and profiting from his abuse of power.
In September, then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA.) announced an impeachment inquiry, uncovering corrupt allegations into Biden's actions.

Associates of Hunter have claimed Biden took part in dozens of business meetings with executives from foreign companies like Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings, which counted Hunter as a member of the board. The investigation has revealed how Biden and Hunter used pseudonyms and burner email accounts to coordinate the White House's strategy in responding to allegations that Biden pressured Ukrainian officials to fire a prosecutor investigating Burisma for corruption. With Speaker Johnson now at the helm, expect the impeachment inquiry to gain steam and turn Washington's focus back on Biden's unseemly family affairs. Hunter continues to negotiate with Washington, D.C. U.S. Attorney David Weiss over a plea deal while President Biden remains "consumed" by the drama, lashing out at aides who recommend he distance himself from his struggling son.
The House Oversight Committee recently discovered a $200,000 payment to Biden from his brother, James Biden. The payout happened the same day one of James Biden's business ventures granted him a loan in the same amount.
Both are completely controlled by 0bama.
Half-hearted sarcasm. The Uniparty will do nothing!
Yea. There is no alternative.
Get the communist bastards on record...
this “inquiry” stuff could be nothing but a way to appease/silence conservatives for a while. Let’s get on with impeachment while there’s still time to do it more than once!
J6 tapes FIRST!!
Interesting. Comments BUMP!
Where is the “Well, we’re waiting” meme?
Theatrics.
Nicely done.
Just do it, they've already proven themselves.
You are exactly right. I remember during the hearings about Clinton’s connections with Chinese money, it was said by a prosecutor who had been involved in the mafia hearings that he had never seen so many people plead the fifth amendment or flee the country.
Republicans were so stupid ( colluding?) that they just accepted letters from lawyers instead of insisting that the person called to testify show up to be sworn in and then publicly plead the fifth amendment. This would have provided a lasting video image of the accusations and the many people pleading the fifth to protect the Clintons. Instead, those entire hearings are down the memory hole.
The important advantage of an impeachment is the unlimited power to subpoena and place witnesses under oath. Convicted by the Senate or not doesn’t matter, this chance to expose what the guilty parties and MSM has been covering up would be priceless in it’s self.
“I just want to get back to business.”
The only business they will get back to is deficit spending and further infringement of our rights.
Most of these Democrats and RINOs need to be impeached or locked up - if the Republicans are not going to work on that, It’s better if the two parties are deadlocked.
No you don't. The business is all swamp business, not the People's business. Back to business - Omnibus spending and CRs that have stuff no one knows about and no one is accountable for putting in or taking out - spends a couple of trillion per year more than we have. It's what give money without a blink to weaponize the agencies against the people. And funding the corruption in Ukraine without accountable under the guise of fighting Putin, with the idiotic actual goal of destroying Russia is just plain disasterously bad strategy.
Swamp corruption is so bad that the cost benefit ratio of the US government has gone way out of tilt.
Put some of these agencies on immmediate fast followed by a strict diet with goals and oversight and reporting and a hotline to investigative congressional committees to investigate and emergency brakes that stop the funding when problems are discovered.
Like just why does anyone in DHS - responsible for border security - get a paycheck?
The swamp wants to get back to business. The People want themeselves served. It's all the difference in the world.
Maybe they can get a twofer, and, impeach BOTH Joe and Kommie, at the same time.
We can dream :)
I hope Johnson is a doer and not a talker like the rest of republicans. Wake me up when it actually happens.
Finally! someone I agree with
Failing to protect the border that she was charged with taking care of. And that’s just the first one that popped into my head.
And how are they going to get that accomplished? Sure they can pass bills and just like the impeachment send them to the Senate where they’ll die.
At least with the impeachment you get all of the dirty laundry on Biden out in the open for all to see
