College Football Game Delayed Amid Protest

This Saturday's game between No. 24 USC and Cal is currently delayed due to a protest taking place on the field.

Moments ago, Brandon Huffman of 247Sports shared a photo of people sitting at midfield at California Memorial Stadium.

"Just before kickoff at Cal-USC in Berkeley and a protest of some sort is going on at midfield," Huffman wrote.

There appears to be at least a dozen people protesting on the field. At this time, it's unclear as to what they're protesting about.

1. The article does not state the rationale for the protest, hope it stays that way.

2. Every time I see Nick Saban on the field he's protected the baddest state troopers, I assume that's standard for major college coaches, they should have used those monsters to through the game delayers into a Paddy wagon. Or deputized the inconvenienced linebackers.

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Fifteen people, mostly California students, were arrested and taken away in handcuffs after storming the field and staging a sit-in that delayed the start of Saturday’s game between Cal and No. 24 Southern California at Memorial Stadium.

According to a statement released by the Cal police department, the people were protesting the suspension of a professor. The protesters, many wearing T-shirts that read “Justice for Ivonne,” sat back-to-back in the middle of the Cal logo.

Ivonne del Valle, a Spanish and Portuguese professor, was recently suspended by the university for allegedly stalking and harassing a professor from another school.

She wasn’t even threatening anyone in schools in the bay area. She had to go out of her way to try to confront someone over a long period of time. She doesn’t need to be suspended...arrested for the harassment and the violation of a no contact order. She’s a menace and breaks the law to do it. This doesn’t need to be teaching minors.
