“… they are making moves to ban most agriculture…”

One of my elderly neighbors was a sharecropper’s son, and he said he never wanted to see another mule as long as he lived. He lied about his age so he could join the Army just to get out of Georgia.

A good Christian man, he worked hard and eventually became a co-owner of a large fleet of construction trucks and equipment. He still gets, on occasion, the odd milk jug of moonshine from the folks he left behind, which he shares with his younger neighbors.

California is currently running TV ads with Millennial spokespersons asking California folks to avoid using electricity during 4-9pm to that might cause “power outages”. “Just take a break at these hours!” and don’t play video games.

Gasoline powered generators are pretty much outlawed for the little guy

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I suppose the liberal air heads are just gonna have to go out and buy electrical fueled gen. sets.
Has AOC thought of this yet?
What is the point of living in California if you can’t play video games?
“”They should be shutting off natgas and other carbon and switching over to these renewables””
There was an electricity generation plant powered by natural gas on the Kalifornia Coast. They ceased producing electricity at this place, and actually installed Tesla batteries in the same buildings used for power generation. There is no power being generated at the site, and no explanation about just how the batteries are charged. Twice, they have had to shut down due to battery fires. One of the shutdowns lasted 6 months. No word on where the ‘customers’ got their electricity during these shutdowns.
When politics infests everything, be assured everything becomes incompetent and corrupt. Nothing ruins efficiencies like politics and politicians.
Light a candle rather than curse the darkness.
That is a Chinese expression. Don’t tell me the Chicoms don’t plan far ahead.
Big disagreements about the origin. Eleanor Roosevelt said it but in September 1907 Rev.William L. Watkinson’s sermon “The Invincible Strategy” was reprinted in a periodical called “China’s Millions” which was published by a Protestant Christian missionary society based in China.
It is usually said to from the Chinese or from Confucius but no one has verified the farthest back source.
The author of Life 101 and other books Peter McWilliams (1949-2000) joked “When I say I’m quoting the ancient Chinese I really mean I saw it on a fortune cookie fortune once.”
"the result of the state not having enough power lines to carry all the electricity produced by wind and solar farms, the EIA report stated."
Picture the funny gay guy in the movie Independence Day when told the aliens are going to invade, "OMG! OMG!. I need to call my Aunt Ester! I need to call my accountant! I need to call my attorney! Fuck my attorney!" [Oh, this is California's fault? Fuck Cali!"]
"They’re already off. Power outages."
No outages here in Orange County and have not heard of others as yet.
“When politics infests everything, be assured everything becomes incompetent and corrupt. “
I was in the energy business from 1973 until 1999 and worked with utility companies all over the country. I saw up close the infection and got so sick of all decisions being political, not driven by sound engineering and economics. So I got out of the industry 24 years ago because of that crap.
Cali does those ads in the summer months, between 4pm and 9pm to minimize electric use, guess when peak heating is.. between 4pl and 9pm.. dumb state. The other ad is to save water.
That facility was used only to stabilize the grid
instability induced by alternative energy sources.
It is/was the largest battery facility in the world.
Operation Wind Power in both Hawaii and California used to go by the nickname of “Blowjob”.
