The Australian government was left with almost 46m unusable face masks after handing $100m in Covid contracts to an obscure online retailer, who sourced the equipment via companies registered in the low-tax jurisdiction of Cyprus.
The Department of Health awarded the contracts in April and June 2020 to Australian Business Mobiles NSW (ABM), a small company whose experience lay predominantly in selling air fryers, robot vacuum cleaners, bedding and massage guns.
ABM sub-contracted the supply of the PPE to two companies registered in Cyprus, owned by twins Ricky and Evan Neumann. The Cyprus-registered companies made about $40m on the deals, according to contracts and other documents seen by the Guardia

Even the ‘usable’ ones were useless, so it really doesn’t matter. Just peeing away money.
As the Australian government goes more and more progressive, their collective IQ has a negative correlation. They are making more and more utterly ridiculous policies, styling themselves to be nincompoops.
Besides Covid, the biggest scam was the masks.
NY was out of masks, A man in another State had an extra one and sent it to NY’s mayor cuomo. Cuomo, instead of keeping it sterile and handing it to a human for usage, proceeded to manhandle that mask contaminating it during one of his noon pressers.
I always wondered if that man regretted sending that mask,

Like the shortage and quality of air traffic controllers and the military personnel.

My favorite one was my Hormel Black Label Bacon mask. It looks AND SMELLS like a package of bacon!
People who do online business from unknown firms are the true future of the dumbing down to idiot level of our societies.
Every government entity of any size has laws and regulations in place to assure that contracts are competitively bid, and to screen out fraud and eliminate companies that are incapable of providing the goods or services. During the COVID hysteria, these laws and regulations were superseded or just ignored. The results are not surprising.
