Exactly. We need to keep our mouths shut about abortion. It will never be an issue we can win in this country. But Rs just can’t get on the same page about anything.

no it won’t be.
equating ending a six week pregnancy and throwing a toddler into running traffic does not make sense to most.
But the evals do just that. I’ll never agree.

I wish you were right. But you are wrong.

Even the stuff that Biden is unpopular with now like the green stuff and trans LGBT garbage - given enough time the institutions will propagandize the public to want that, just like they did with immigration, abortion, gay marriage, women’s lib.

And elite campus anti-Israel and anti-Semitism will be the same.

Unpopular in the short term, just like 2015 Woke, BLM and LGBT. But now the institutional norm.

Elites rule. Institutions change the population, not the other way around.

Think back to the Old Testament of the Bible. The disobedient adoption of idolatry came from the top down. And the reforms that banished idolatry came from the top down (Jehu, Hezekiah etc.)

The people went along with what the elites and the institutions did.

Then we go to another option. But I don’t think you are right. The GOP wins on every issue EXCEPT for Abortion.

Propaganda works. Control every institution and you can change the thinking of the population.

“Overall, 84% of respondents said they side with Israel over Hamas. This figure drops to 52% among 18-24 yr olds “

We've had abortion until birth in this country since 1972. There is nothing new here. I don't think God distinguishes between abortion by SC or by the voters.

Anyone who thought overturning RvW was the answer is grossly naive. Those who say they oppose abortion will still vote for it because they think it is a freedom issue.

Those people who believed abortion was a heart issue and not a legal issue have been proven correct.

Dems can’t win as a left wing party.

BS. Republicans are losing elections because our voters are showing up. Turns out, when you spend every waking moment going after Republican or conservative voters & politicians, calling someone a sellout because they don’t sufficiently defer to your candidate, convince half of your own team that showing up & voting in elections is pointless when your favored candidate isn’t in the race, sticking it to the establishment is more of a priority than beating back your enemies & their atheism & Marxism, boycotting elections is an important message to send when your country is on a knifes edge, voting is pointless because it’s rigged & nobody other than one guy is worth voting for ....... IT HAS CONSEQUENCES!!!! The combined effect of all that is that you have depressed your own teams voter turnout, your own teams voter participation & your own teams ability to win elections & triumph on important matters. This isn’t caused by some mysterious change in voting attitudes all of a sudden. It’s because your own side didn’t show up & vote.

People need to stop making this about electing one man & realize it’s about a hell of a lot more than that. You have to nurture coalitions of people who don’t agree on everything because it’s the only way you can win in a free country. Unfortunately establishment types are a part of any equation. They are disappointing to the extreme. Declaring war on them has been a failure for us. I absolutely think primarying them is a great idea, but so is working to change them & win them over.

Making an entire movement about one man was idiotic and short-sighted. Depressing your own voters wasn’t smart either. Attacking the entire apparatus with a frontal assault may have felt great, but it didn’t show any skill at political warfare. Guess what... by announcing you are coming, you have afforded them time to circle their wagons, stock up on ammo, polish their delicate fingernails & dispatch you like a loudmouthed toddler.

This isn’t a sign of their strength, it’s a glaring neon sign pointing out our own ineptitude & glaring lack of political planning in electoral campaigns since 2016. They take any victory as a sign that they are in a superior position. They aren’t. We have just been dumb, sidetracked with petty, internal squabbles & not focusing on winning elections 🙄

“Dems can’t win as a left wing party.”

It gets easier for them every year. Because all the institutions in the country are now promoting left wing ideas.

Note: important to distinguish between people unhappy with bad economic circumstances, and blame incumbent President.

And, people accept and believe leftist Regime propaganda on immigration, abortion, feminism, gays, LGBT, Israel - when they previously rejected it.

This is really very simple.

Roe v. Wade was an anti-Constitutional decision which the USSC had no authority to make. As long as it was allowed to stand, the Court retained power not granted in the Constitution, it could not be allowed to stand.

But, no one except Federalist Papers nerds cares about any of that. There is however a group of people who care, and care a lot, about stopping abortion, about “saving the babies”.

Those people, many of them Catholic Democrats, were allowed to join Republican politics and were allowed to believe, by people who knew better, that overturning Roe v. Wade would end abortions. In a lot of ways, those kind, good people were used by politicians who never, ever would consent to actually end abortions as long as their staffer and press girlfriends kept getting pregnant.

Those people were also allowed to believe, against all evidence, that their view of abortion could be used to win elections. This was never true. But as long as Roe v. Wade was invulnerable, Republicans could get elected by claiming that the existence of Roe was the reason they could not end abortions. They passed so-called “trigger laws” that would go into effect as soon as Roe was overturned (i.e., never).

But Donald Trump kept this one promise, to appoint justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade, NOT because they were “pro-life” but because they were willing to follow the Constitution. And Roe fell.

Now, the bitter truth is exposed. There are strong pro-abortion majorities nearly everywhere. People would vote, tomorrow, to end partial birth or late third trimester abortions AS LONG AS THEY WERE CERTAIN THAT FIRST TRIMESTER ABORTIONS WOULD REMAIN UNTOUCHED.

But, if in order to preserve early abortion, infanticide had to be written into State Constitutions, then infanticide it would be.

The GOP has gotten snookered into defending something almost none of them believe - the sanctity of life from conception - and now they are paying the price.

True but the men won’t vote against all their other interests just to be able to kill babies. In a social setting I sat next to a wealthy married woman who bitched, at length, about everything our rat governor had done during COVID but just couldn’t vote against her because the Republican challenger would have allowed abortion to be put to a vote in state referendum. There was nothing in this woman’s life more important than the ability to kill her own child. It was a very eye opening experience.

Issues like this should not be put to a popular vote.

What should be the criteria to determine what should and shouldn’t be put to a popular vote?

The GOP can drop it all they want and talk about anything else, but the Democrats will scream about it from the top of the rooftops, and pillory the GOP for not replying.

Once that many people decide their economic interests outweigh the life of a baby, there is only one path for that kind of society.

Makes ya want to be a female JUST SO you can have a human life scraped out of ya’ in the third trimester huh ? Look , it is up to EACH STATE to decide what they will allow. That was the whole reason ROE vs WADE was deemed void....If you don’t like the vote MOVE,speak with your feet! If females get jubilant over going through an abortion LET EM....ignorance is bliss obviously. Not like their is access to any type of contraception ??????

The idiots that whine wanted Roe reversed. Then it happens and they complain.

Like dogs that caught the car.

It’s a one off. Abortion will wane as an issue over time. Roe has been gone only a year or so.

That Ohio wording was very vague and confusing. One of those where a Yes is no and vice versa.

Ohio is a weird state anyway. Taxed to death up there.
