Stock up on ceramic pots, bricks, cookie sheets and tea candles.
You’ll thank me, later 😉
Generac installation next week. 😄
BTW, there is some rumor going around of a sewer line collapse in Chicago and massive backups into peoples homes. Have you heard anything like that?
(Asked my brother who worked w heavy construciton equipment in the tunnels and on the roads, but he retired and moved to N Michigan and said he hadn't.)
I’ve only seen EV charging addressed on a residential level. Never seen word one about charging electric big rigs, locomotives, planes, ect. I’m pretty sure they need allot more power than a car.
Yep. After ERCOT let us down in the winter of ‘21, I now have gas logs and a couple of electric space heaters. My honda generators are all gassed up and ready for them to put us in the dark again.
Humble brag: Georgia has plenty of generation and distribution in place.
And we have a shiny new nuke plant just coming on line.
We’re good here 😉
And at the house we have both solar and ICE generator capacity. I believe in preparing for ‘contingencies.’
To be fair, 5G supports a far wider range and mix of radios than 4G, so the towers have more radios and antennae.
5G “new radio” is actually more efficient with RF than 4G, both on the tower and in your smart phone.
5G supports higher speeds and greater data throughput so ya have to power more network gear.
Net: 5G is not a power hog, it just can do more and doing more consumes more power.
I would add to that list, look into various gasifier designs at driveonwood.com
Even if you don’t build one now, being familiar with them will give you a leg up if petroleum fuels become unavailable. They can be used to run generators and tractors, not just cars. And they will often work with fuels other than wood, such as corn cobs.
Ship home 50 million illegals and suddenly our infrastructure won’t be overextended.
True.
And you are kind to only wish them bon voyage.
More and more are less charitable these days. Lines were crossed a long time ago and the government did not respond by forcing illegals to obey even some of the laws we live under.
The “good ones” will go and strengthen and uplift their countries, and the “bad ones” will be sent back to where they belong anyway.
