Wait a minute. The weather channel is projecting a warmer than normal winter for all sections of the U.S. except for the southeast. I've heard that from sources I trust far more than TWC.
One problem with the warmer winter, is that it means increased snowfall which is more likely to bring down trees and power lines.
Sometimes You just cant win so it pays to be ready for whatever happens.
