Biden who took $>30 million from Chinese sources over his career has their fingers so deep in his pocket they are likely holding his balls.
Many US firms manufacture in China and if you tackle the real issues you’ll have US HQ’d firms with names like Dell, HP, Cisco, Amazon, go after you.
China has grown to become one of the worlds biggest markets. It is already a market so influential that firms like Buick sell more cars there than in the US, Hollywood will make sure not to piss them off... The point being that they can leverage their size.
I’d imagine that we are at a point where the stress caused by Ukraine and the Middle East combined are making it to where we are not looking for trouble elsewhere, even if China is a real threat while Russia is simply a weaker rival/competitor we are tearing apart and seizing land from.
China is militarily far more powerful than Russia. We’re going after Russia, stripping them of their frontier nations that are allies or aligned with them (Venezuela, Syria, Iraq and Libya), building military bases all along their border, and we numerically outnumber them in every aspect except nuclear weapons all while we pretend them to be some huge threat and make them out as a boogieman. Russia is conventionally no longer truly a peer and that is why we are invading their space. But while Russia has descended, China has ascended and today stands as a peer with us, so we are far less aggressive with them as witnessed by Taiwan where China is doing to us what we did to Russia in Ukraine (Taiwan will be theirs in a matter of years).
Biden and this administration isn’t going to do anything about China.
