FBI Director Christopher Wray told agency staffers that he was concerned about “a potential conflict of interest” involving the selection of the bureau’s new headquarters in Maryland, according to an email obtained by NBC News.
On Thursday, the General Services Administration confirmed that the FBI’s new home would be in Greenbelt, about 13 miles northeast of Washington, seeming to bring to an end a drawn-out and politically fraught site selection process. Two other finalists were Springfield, Virginia, and Landover, Maryland.
In his unusually pointed letter to staffers, Wray said the FBI has “concerns about fairness and transparency in the process and GSA’s failure to adhere to its own site selection plan,” adding that a senior GSA executive overruled a board decision and picked land that is owned by the executive’s previous employer, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

The FBI Headquarters should I suggest a new location I’ll let everyone use their imagination instead.
My middle school was in Landover, MD. So glad to be not living inside the Beltway.
I am not sure why the FBI headquarters wouldn’t be in DC, but it should be. Mow down some neighborhoods which shouldn’t be there to begin with and put it where it should be in DC
Hey Warner, it’s not just the site process that’s “Rotten”.
Put it in Laramie Wyoming.
How about Bismark North Dakota?
I think it's better that the Feds are in blue Maryland. It's a bonus that the FBI Director is pissed off about it. If he changed the site to Virginia, we can call him a "racist" for doing that.
I don't give a ****.
Why are we rewarding a corrupt FBI with a new headquarters larger than the Pentagon? Could it be that Congress is so corrupt themselves and the FBI is blackmailing them into getting what they want? J. Edgar Hoover lives on.
They could put in in Gitmo so it would be closer to Havana, the Obama-Biden source of inspiration.
Put them with the NIH primate research center in Reston. They can be the first to beta test new Fauci-viruses.
They should tear down the J. Edgar Hoover Building and then put a new headquarters on the same site in D.C.
But they don't want to do that because it would make them accountable to Americans. They prefer to hide somewhere in the suburbs so we can't gain access to them.
I was thinking Kansas but I’m good with Laramie.
They don’t need another building. If they do there are a whole lot of now empties in DC. Why can’t they move into some of those?
If Trump wins in 2024 (a big IF), he should postpone the construction until his presidency ends on January 20, 2029.
i like it
the feebs are going to love pg county
Whatta bout EBF, Egypt?
Next to the SuperMax in Colo.
