I wonder if the dude tried shooting it with a pistol. The round needs to be moving at around 2300 feet per second to set off tannerite. There’s mixes out there made for lower velocities, but the normal mix is only for rifles.
Lots of people don’t know that

When I hear binary explosive, I think of ANFO. And 15 pounds isn’t going to do much more than clear a stump. Although trying to detonate it with a rifle does sound like Tannerite.
