The U.S. launched another round of airstrikes against facilities used by Iran and its terrorist proxy in Syria on Sunday night in response to those groups continuing to launch attacks on U.S. throughout the region.
“U.S. military forces conducted precision strikes today on facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran-affiliated groups in response to continued attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria,” said Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. “The strikes were conducted against a training facility and a safe house near the cities of Abu Kamal and Mayadin, respectively.”
Senior U.S. defense officials said that approximately 6-7 Iranian-backed terrorists were killed at one of the locations and that “two hours of secondary explosions [were] seen at second location suggesting large weapons and ammo storage.”
The strike follows a similar strike the U.S. carried out last week after dozens of U.S. soldiers have sustained brain injuries from rocket and drone attacks launched by Iranian-backed terrorists. There have been an estimated 48 attacks on U.S. forces in recent weeks by the Iranian-backed terrorists and at least 56 U.S. soldiers have been injured.
The New York Times reported that Biden has “rejected more aggressive bombing options proposed by the Pentagon” to keep U.S. forces safe because he is afraid of “provoking” Iran.
The U.S. has shifted multiple assets to the Middle East in recent weeks after Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic terrorist group that is backed by Iran, murdered 1,200 Israelis last month in one of the worst terror attacks in world history.
The U.S. deployed the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group to the Central Command area of responsibility late last month in addition to moving the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. The U.S. also deployed Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) batteries as well as additional Patriot battalions to locations throughout the region and placed additional forces on “prepare to deploy” orders.
Time to stop wasting money. This has been going on since the old testament.
This article uses the word terrorist 198 times. I thought the war on terror was over and we were now going to war with China? I am so confused.
what do you suggest - giving up?
The USA has no more right to be in Syria than Ruzzia has to be in Ukraine. Period.
One man’s ‘terrorist’ is another man’s ‘freedom fighter’...................
I’m surprised there are any U.S. military personnel left to carry out a mission of any kind in a Third World dump over there.
Right
The War on Terror began in 2001.
In Afghanistan the objective was to remove the Taliban from power.
Twenty years later, we left Afghanistan to the Taliban.
In 2001, there were 1.29 billion Muslims.
In 2023, there are 2 billion Muslims.
“Mission Accomplished”
I find it interesting that Syria would give the US permission to launch a surgical strike against Hamas.
Not nearly enough. There are 20 US hostages held by Hamas. We should be killing at least that many Iranians a day, until the hostages are released.
The US terrorist training camp at Al Tanf needs to be taken out. What the US has done in Syria has sickened me for over 12 years.
“””””The US terrorist training camp at Al Tanf needs to be taken out.””””””
You are calling for our base to be “taken out”?
Wake me when the US strikes Iran.
This is probably where and why the 5 deaths we heard about this morning.
IIRC, Sunni Hamas is limited to Gaza and the West Bank. Shiite Hezbolla (sp) is in Lebanon. And the Shiite IRGC and Sunni ISIS are in Syria. Of course, sectarian differences are put aside in order to attack the Great Satan. And Iran is also Mr. $$$ for needed funds. (Not to be confused with Saudi Arabia, which is Mr. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.)
The reported US attacks in Syria are on the IRGC (and affiliated groups). Of the groups mentioned, only the IRGC has the access to the domestically produced drones and missiles that are likely being used in the attacks on Americans.
I guess the announced US self-limitation in the scope and scale of the attacks is intended to indicate to Iran that the US will respond at the same level if attacked, but it will not escalate beyond tit-for-tat exchanges.
I just hope the US will maintain surveillance on the sites attacked so that they can be reattacked once cleanup starts. Dead technicians are more difficult to replace than dead jihadis at the front.
Thank you for the info. I have a hard time keeping the different sects and where they are located straight.

I suggest fighting for your own rights in your own country and pushing for the return of freedom.
