I see so many women lay their purses down. I wear my fanny pack, concealed as much as possible. Agree -- I thought I'd abandoned fanny packs forever when I got old and don't ride a bike any more. But when I recently started taking a grandchild to a public park, I dug a few of them out and now use them most of the time.

I wear a fanny pack slung over my shoulder, or a crossbody sling bag. Wear a windbreaker over it... Another option is to wear a vest or jacket with interior pockets.I traveled to southern Italy a lot when younger; and there, you always need not only a concealed passport/money/creditcard bag under your clothes; but also fake cards in a purse over one shoulder nearest the street so that cyclists or runners can rip it from you while zipping by. Keeps you from being manhandled. Be sure to scream a lot so they think they've got something valuable until they are far away.
