Why just war? Why not total war? If Russia is the true enemy of our survival as a nation, then it’s total war. Several ten megaton thermo-nuclear airbursts at a thousand feet over Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad to start. Destroy them, remember, it’s for our survival. Or maybe I should learn how to speak Russian. I don’t think so.

Nonsense. This is the tired old domino theory again. “Russia is going to attack the west if they win in Ukraine”. This is just another stupid ethnic border war in Europe. Europe has been having these for centuries. It is none of our business getting involved in them. Ukraine isn’t worth the bones of a single one of our kids.

A former Putin advisor has broken down US weapons aid to Ukraine. First as what’s been appropriated, $48 billion, IIRC, what’s been “committed” by Biden, $44 Billion, IIRC, and then the number that really stood out to me, weapons actually received in Ukraine, $22 billion. This last is a kind of weird number, as I believe it actually comports with the cost of replacing the weapons sent, and the replacements are almost always the latest and greatest version(s) that are similar (in defense terms often referred to as a recent “block” of one or more types.)

So, a std. 155mm shell doesn’t get replaced by an Excalibur round in this exercise, but, an older Excalibur shell might. I think.

In any event, the slow-walking of the weapons would seem to mean a lot are still “in the pipeline”. $100 million is almost insignificant.

The ex-Pooty guy was on YouTube - If I get a chance I’ll try to find the vid again. Dude made one other interesting point: That agreements with Putin are not worth the paper they are written on. Many examples.

BTW, IMO if Pooty “wins” in Ukraine, in the long run fighting Russia ourselves will be the “good scenario”...
