awww....
Red Hen laid an egg....
Surprised it took this long.
The way she was treated was a national disgrace!
Natural selection at work.
Today we have some big news: The Red Hen will offer its final service on December 31, 2023.
Beginning in early 2024, the creative team behind Red Hen will unveil a brand new project. We can’t say too much about it now – we believe anticipation whets the appetite – but we can tell you that Chef Matt Adams will be bringing something brand new to the Lexington dining scene. The new venture will bring to life a vision that’s been simmering behind the scenes for a while.
While still in the same location, there will be a new name, a new look, and a new vibe. Our commitment to quality and creating outstanding experiences will not change.
good news!
I’m going to miss not going there.
Go woke go broke. Haha.
Get woke, go broke..................
I had to LOL to see this story.
Well, if you set a standard that you have to be liberal or Democrat or anti-Trump, to be a customer in a restaurant, don’t be surprised that your customer base shrinks.
attaboy.
There’s no correlation to the reason its closing is in anyway tied to the BS back in 2018
especially since that was 5 years ago.
Next two things that come up:
Chef Matt Adams claimed the “core values” of the business “will live on.”
The owners have confirmed the business will close down, and later a new restaurant with a new name will replace it.
That tells me a probable renovation, the name and menu may change but the same liberal scum will run it.
“Apparently telling two-thirds of the local population they are not welcome at your business”
If “local population” means the city of Lexington, VA then that fraction is absurdly incorrect. DEMOCRATS are 2/3 of the population and Republicans only 1/3.
Which might explain why they actually aren’t closing at all, despite what the “I-only-read-the-headline” types are assuming.
You can get away with turning off 2/3rds in a large urban area.
Here in Phoenix, there Packers’ Bars, and Red Sox Bars and Steelers’ Bars.
On the other hand, I remember someone tried to open a REDSKINS luncheonette in MERIDEN, CT (Fat Boy’s). It failed quickly. (At the time Meriden was mostly Giants country)
What a shame they had to close. The WaPo ran an article July 7, 2018 that said the restaurant took a two week "hiatus" after the brouhaha and indicated all was well when they reopened. Wrong, as usual! Here's a photo from the article...
Co-owner Stephanie Wilkinson --
“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation. I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.”Yes, insulting and attacking two-thirds of your customer base is a sound business strategy. Well done, Ms. Wilkinson. I hope you are a pariah to good conservatives for the rest of your miserable, intolerant life and fail at everything you do.
HAHAHAHAHA!
