Report: DeSantis Took Campaign Cash from China-Backed Refrigerant Company
Breitbart ^ | 23 Nov 2023 | KRISTINA WONG

Republican presidential candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took more than $11,000 in campaign donations from the CEO of a Tampa refrigerant company backed by China, according to a report.

According to a report in the Miami Herald, the donation was “just the latest in years” of financial support that the company, iGas USA, has given DeSantis. The report said that DeSantis even held a rally at the company’s Tampa complex.

The report said:

The rally and contributions are part of a recent wave of political giving by iGas and entities associated with its CEO, Xianbin (Ben) Meng. All told, the companies and employees have made more than $1.1 million in federal and state political contributions in the past five years, with 98% of the money going to Republican candidates and committees. The lion’s share of that money, $340,000, went to DeSantis and committees affiliated with him.

The report said that Meng had donated to former President Donald Trump in 2016 but that DeSantis is the only Republican presidential contender iGas or its employees have given to this presidential campaign cycle.

The newspaper said corporate records and court filings show that a state-controlled Chinese company owns about a third of iGas USA, and that American competitors of the company have protested the company’s import of “cheap, Chinese-made refrigerants,” saying it has hurt domestic producers of refrigerant.

The report added:

iGas USA was created in 2018 as a joint venture between Meng and Zhejiang Juhua, a major Chinese manufacturer of refrigerants that the Commerce Department determined to be controlled by the Chinese government.

The company increased donations to lawmakers as Congress considered a bill phasing out the type of refrigerants that iGas imports from China known as “hydrofluorocarbons” used to cool refrigerators and air conditioners but are considered contributors of climate change.

I believe the hate on FR for Desantis is greater than for Biden.

Tell the eGOP runts to get out of the way and we'll focus on Biden. As it stands right now, DeSantis and the rest of the eGOP are running blocking for Biden. What else is being accomplished by even being in this race? Fighting for 2nd place comes with no reward except for padding bank accounts.

So F**ing what?

You just try tracking the monies that the US gave to Ukraine and then got returned to BeijingBiden by money laundering schemes. Or sustainable energy schemes. Or bullet trains. Or any stinkin’ program to help the street bums.

Tracking down the originator of $$ is near impossible if they don’t want you to know — so they can later smear you on it.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Haley just passed Desantis in some polls so she—the REAL RINO—should be the greater threat to Trump and the conservative cause. Yet a quick search shows 7 Desantis hating posts in the last 2 days and 2 for Haley. Like to see someone explain that. IMG-9115

China is currently the largest trading partner of the US.
US companies sell a lot of products to China.
And yes we also but a lot.
Every governor will have interaction with China related companies .

Yet a quick search shows 7 Desantis hating posts in the last 2 days and 2 for Haley. Like to see someone explain that.

The simple explanation is, DeSantis is 'in the news' more than Haley? I don't know... and frankly don't care for any of these eGOP stooges but for entertainment you should search the internet looking for negative news on Haley and post it. I'll watch for it.

Walk into any store, there’s more Chinese crap than pre-Trump era. Trump talked, did nothing. Are his ties still made in China ?

1. It is not a Chinese backed company.

2. Trump also took donations from same.

“The point is DeSantis is going after others for China connections and he has his own China problem.”

Since Trump also took donations from Meng:

The point is Trump is going after others for China connections and he has his own China problem.

>>”Walk into any store, there’s more Chinese crap than pre-Trump era.”

Have you done some sort of study on the matter or have any source for that statement, Sparky? I’m guessing not.

>>”Trump talked, did nothing.”

Except negotiate an extensive new trade deal with China. Have you read through it? Nah, you’re just talking sh*t.

You are full of BS, because Chinese merchandise have been in our stores for decades now. The outsourcing started in the 80s & 90s, and Walmart started their business bringing in primarily Chinese goods.

From the beginning, Sam Walton and Wal-Mart focused on buying goods as cheaply as possible, which often meant buying imports. Here is an examination of the history of Wal-Mart's procurement practices in Asia and China -- even through its own "Buy American" promotional campaign in the 1980s and 1990s -- and the prognosis for the future.

Here's the source for that above paragraph:

Walmart & China: A Joint Venture

You Never-Trumpers always think you know everything, but most of you know very little in reality.

This is not much of a China “connection”. I don’t know what specifically he went after others about.
