Report: Netanyahu pledged not to target Hamas leaders in Qatar

The hostage deal which has seen the release of 26 Israeli hostages from Gaza so far includes a commitment by the Israeli government not to target the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization in Qatar, the French newspaper Le Figaro reported.

According to the newspaper, Qatar received from Israel as part of the outline for the release of the hostages from Gaza a promise according to which the Mossad would not carry out assassinations of senior Hamas members on Qatari soil.

It was also reported that the Qataris set conditions on their role as mediators between Israel and Hamas.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he has “instructed the Mossad to act against the heads of Hamas wherever they are.”

He added that there is “no such obligation" not to target Hamas leaders abroad in the hostage deal.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant added that Hamas' leaders outside of Gaza "are living on borrowed time."

“The struggle is worldwide: From gunman in the field to those who are enjoying luxury jets while their emissaries are acting against women and children, they are destined to die,” Gallant said.

I would make all the pledges needed to get legitimate hostages free. Then I’d destroy Hamas and Gaza. Promises to Hamas are like promises to a rabid dog. Do whatever you need to do to put it down.

I had to think about it for a second, but this means he has an obligation to target Hamas in Qatar, which is opposite of what the headline says. Too many double negative confused the reporter, I think.

Bibi wants at least some kind of legacy. Hostage return it is. Destruction of hamas has been jettisoned. Gallant said as much in Gaza, saying they are in there till all hostages returned. Well hamas is probably thinking, “ha the only war aim now of the Israelis is hostage return”. So they will give them up quickly. Biden will say no more war required. And Israel will pack up and go home and endure a war of attrition with emboldened musloid crazies, civil fracture and look weak and vulnerable.

Bibi will destroy Hamas this time.

As someone recently said "Never again is now."

"includes a commitment by the Israeli government not to target the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization in Qatar,'

As long as Mossad is not expected expected to protect them this probably does not amount to much.

Israel should practice muslim taqiyya and , after the hostages are free, kill them all.

Deception, Lying and Taqiyya

Does Islam permit Muslims to lie?

Muslim scholars teach that Muslims should generally be truthful to each other... unless the purpose of lying is to “smooth over differences” or “gain the upper-hand over an enemy.”

There are several forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, the best known being taqiyya (the Shia name). These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause of Islam - in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

Aren’t there a bunch of them in other countries, like there were after the Munich massacre? Does that also mean, the terrorist leaders are fair game, if they leave Qatar?

If Hamas violates the deal, Israel will pound them even harder.

The only way to negotiate with Hamas is with a big stick.

That was said when Bibi thought Israeli society was unified behind the initial war aim. Which was destroy hamas savages and get hostages back in the process. But hamas knows Israel’s weakness is that they will endanger their whole existence for 1 hostage, let alone 200+. And you can see the war aims changing day by day and the softening up process of letting the Israeli public know that destroying hamas was more of an aspiration thing rather than a true goal. Bibi will continue his ‘heavy blow’ charade till he bows out or is forced out.

Had to look that one up. Thanks.

“Quran
Quran (16:106) - Establishes that there are circumstances that can “compel” a Muslim to tell a lie.
Quran (3:28) - This verse instructs believers not to take those outside the faith as friends, unless it is to “guard themselves” against danger, meaning that there are times when a Muslim may appear friendly to non-Muslims, even though they should not feel friendly.

Quran (9:3) - “...Allah and His Messenger are free from liability to the idolaters...” The dissolution of oaths is with pagans who remained at Mecca following its capture. They did nothing wrong, but were evicted anyway. (The next verse refers only to those who have a personal agreement with Muhammad as individuals - see Ibn Kathir vol 4, p 49)

Quran (66:2) - “Allah has already ordained for you the dissolution of your oaths...” For today’s reader, the circumstances for betraying your word are not specified, leaving this verse open to interpretation. According to Yusuf Ali in his commentary: “if your vows prevent you from doing good, or acting rightly, or making peace between persons, you should expiate the vow.” (Presumably, whatever advances the cause of Islam would qualify as ‘doing good’).

Quran (40:28) - A man is introduced as a believer, but one who had to “hide his faith” among those who are not believers.

Quran (2:225) - “Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths, but for the intention in your hearts” (see also 5:89)

Quran (3:54) - “And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers.” The Arabic word used here for scheme (or plot) is makara, which means ‘cunning,’ ‘guile’ and ‘deceit’. If Allah is supremely deceitful toward unbelievers, then there is little basis for denying that Muslims are allowed to do the same. (See also 8:30 and 10:21)

Taken collectively these verses are interpreted to mean that there are circumstances when a Muslim may be “compelled” to deceive others for a greater purpose.

They won’t. They walked into this trap in a trance. They surrendered the momentum. Already the Qataris are pushing to extend the 4 days. 4 will become 7. Seven will become 14. It’s over.

The Talmud also permits, sometimes even requires, Jews to lie to nonbelievers. For instance, if telling the truth would bring harm or even disrepute to Jews.

The hostages were taken because Hamas knows damn well it is the West’s mortal and moral weakness to protect the lives of hostages. At any price. A grave strategic error Israel and the West continues to make in the face of attacks by an enemy having a 6th-century rage coupled with access to 21st-century warfare technology, all in service to the goal of world domination, and destruction of the West.

This is a global existentialist war, it is NOT an isolated criminal act to be dealt with using traditional state- sanctioned law enforcement rules and regulations, such as hostage rescue elevated to the highest good, because the West has always valued the sanctity of individual life, above all else.

No. The highest good, in this case, is to protect the viability of an entire nation from the existentialist threat this enemy represents. And western nations must be willing, at the end of the day, to pay the very high price that entails.

If Qatar is now admittedly harboring the head of the Hamas snake amidst a presumably indifferent Muslim population of its very own, it has forfeited the right to peaceful coexistence with the State of Israel and all other Western nations. It has become a belligerent and should be called out on that fact.
