I don't believe it either. I went to high school with blacks in the late 70s early 80s in Cow Town USA in California. All of them in Section 8 housing, intact families, church going, sociable and incidentally very funny. I liked them and they liked me. I don't remember a single racial incident between the races then either.

I live in OK. I have several black friends that agree with me. What I find intriguing is that positive natural abilities in blacks such as athleticism, can be extolled, but any negative behaviorial tendencies can never be discussed. White liberals have certainly contributed to the problem, but blacks have agency. All races have natural tendencies both good and bad, but we can’t criticize blacks for anything lest we be labeled racist. That’s cowardice.

I went to Junior High School and High School in the late 50s and early 60s in Washington, DC. No problems. The races got along fine.
