Henry Kissinger, the former U.S. secretary of state during the Nixon and Ford administrations who was said to be one of the most influential and controversial foreign policy framers in postwar United States, has died. He was 100.
The news was confirmed by Kissinger's consulting company on Wednesday night.
"Dr. Henry Kissinger, a respected American scholar and statesman, died today at his home in Connecticut," Kissinger Associates, Inc. said in a statement Wednesday.
Kissinger will be interred at a private family service and there will be a memorial service at a later date in New York City, the company said.
Kissinger remained active in politics in the decades since his time in office and had taken on a respected elder role for some Republicans and Democrats. He met with Alaska's then-Gov. Sarah Palin in 2008, and Mitt Romney reportedly spoke by phone with Kissinger during the 2012 campaign. Kissinger met with Donald Trump shortly after Trump won the 2016 presidential election and the two later met in the White House in 2017.

Dead 3 times already
Lizards live a long time
I agree.
Actually 4 times now.
βMy fatherβs longevity is especially miraculous when one considers the health regimen he has followed throughout his adult life.
“Which includes a diet heavy on bratwurst and Wiener schnitzel, a career of relentlessly stressful decision-making, and a love of sports purely as a spectator, never a participant.β
Seems to have had a good sense of humor.
Recall him doing some sort of playboy centerfold thing a long time ago.
He was a mover and shaker of world affairs in his time.
Our foreign policy from the late 60s to today has been so stable with his advice. Building China up into an economic behemoth has been a wonderful success.
I hope things don’t spin out of control without his advice./s
He was the architect of transferring all US jobs to China.
He and Nixon managed to succeed in securing South Vietnam from the communists. It was undone by the takeover of Congress by the left wing of the Democrat party after the 1974 midterms. The Watergate Congress doomed South Vietnam (on purpose) by cutting off military assistance.
He was a very strange sex symbol.
“Despite his short stature and glasses, Mr. Kissinger was seen as a sex symbol during the 1970s, with gossip columns devoting inches to the actresses he was seen with. His reputation as βthe Playboy of the Western Wingβ was something he helped to cultivate, telling Sally Quinn, then a society reporter for The Washington Post, βwhy donβt you assume Iβm a secret swinger?β In a 1971 profile of Mr. Kissinger in WWD, headlined βI Wonder Who Is Kissing Now,β Mr. Kissinger compliments the reporterβs hot pants.
He put an end to the rumors of dalliances with starlets in 1974, when he wed Nancy Maginnes. Their wedding made the front page of The New York Times”
Sally Quinn did go on to marry the aged Ben Bradlee.
Maybe Kissinger was right about power being the ultimate aphrodesiac.
β He was the architect of transferring all US jobs to China.β
Yep.
He made billions, millions personally, working for the Chicoms.
He was a traitor in that his allegiance became to the Chicoms.
He admired and wished he had Maoβs dictatorial power.
Ben Bradlee was the friend and neighbor of JFK who told us he was pro-abortion.
I thought I recall an interview he did just a couple of months ago where he basically admitted that bringing in a flood of millions of “refugees” into the West was not a good idea afterall.
I love how the CNN banner at the bottom of the screen says
“Kissinger dies at 100, was acclaimed, reviled.”
You can bet you sweet ass when Carter goes you won’t see a headline like that! It will be all about honey and roses and angles.
good riddance to a arrogant globalist....lets not pretend he was some sort of good guy...
Gee whizz!
Those lions of the GOP took time out of their perpetual circle-jerk to deliver a thunderous and world-shaking cry of “foul”...
Agree.
I don’t care what his
Detractors say
He was very smart
In a very good way
