John Kerry once said something that , to paraphrase, he is allowed to fly on a private jet and emit the carbon pollution.
His reasoning is, number one , he buys carbon credits, and number two, he has to travel around the world to work on climate change issues, and the best way to get there is by private jet. So his carbon footprint doesn’t count because he is working to deal with climate change.
